The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner to close next year

Announced in last week’s budget, the Information commission will close by January 1st next year and will now be replaced by the Attorney General’s Department as well as the Commonwealth Ombudsman. The commission has provided guidelines to those seeking to make a Freedom of Information request. It has also advised the government on how to be more open and accountable on information management.
