Allan Riverstone McCulloch was a man of many talents. He was a leading scientist, an illustrator and the Australian Museum’s most senior curator and star exhibition designer.

Until now, however, his life and achievements have largely been missing from recounts of Australian cultural and scientific history.

To rectify this, Brendan Atkins, former editor of the Australian Museum’s Explore magazine, has released ‘The Naturalist’, a book detailing the fascinating life of McCulloch and his contributions to art and science.
