Last week, Victorian Senator Lidia Thorpe made global headlines after disrupting King Charle’s visit to Parliament House.

Senator Thorpe, a Gurnai, Gunditjmara and Djab-Wurrung woman, was removed from the ceremony in Parliament House’s Great Hall, as she shouted phrases like ‘you’re not my king’ and ‘give us our land back,’ at the Monarch.

While some Australians have come out in support of her actions, others believe it was inappropriate.
