The Common Indian Myna bird is fast becoming Australia’s number one feral enemy! Brought to Melbourne in 1862 to control insect pests in market gardens, the Indian Myna has fast spread around the country. In the year 2000, Common Indian Mynas were listed by the World Conservation Union (IUCN) as one of the World’s 100 Worst Invasive Species. Garry Cunich is the National Coordinator of the Indian Myna Eradication Program and Heather Anderson caught up with him to find out more about what is now becoming known as “the flying cane toad”
