The question of marine parks and sanctuaries tend to stir a mixed response in people and as a result, governments seem slow to respond to the need for environmental protection that may compromise industries in the area. One of the latest debates on the agenda involves an area of ocean along the South Western coast of Australia. As it stands, less than one per cent of this region is protected from over-fishing and the threats of industry.
