Despite the New South Wales and Victorian governments overturning bans on growing genetically modified crops, many are worried it will not be an economic success. A Coles survey found that 90 per cent of their customers did not want GM ingredients in their food, and the European Union is considering a withdrawal of some GM products from supermarkets because consumers refusing to buy them. Outside South Australian Parliament today protesters gave their feelings on the issue. Consumer group spokesperson Jenny Patterson was there. She is worried the European trends could be seen in Australia.
