The Country Women’s Association (CWA) has joined the ranks of a growing number of groups concerned about the impact of mining and coal seam gas on land and water. The rapid expansion of mining and coal seam gas has united farmers and environmental groups across the country as they share concerns that the environment, water and agricultural land is being sacrificed in the race for Australia’s natural resources.

The CWA is perhaps best known to many for cooking and handicrafts, and although the organization has for 90 years promoted the interests of its members, it is rarely seen rallying in the streets. But the CWA will join the NSW Farmer’s Association and a number of environmental groups in Sydney tomorrow to rally for better protection of land and water.
