Fairfield, established in the late 80's when the pandemic was at its height, has provided care for those with HIV/AIDS, support for their loved ones and a peaceful place to recover.The fate of the facility hangs in limbo as health industry bodies, HIV/AIDS organisations and hospital officials battle over the future of this much loved hospital.Manifestos have been submitted, campaigns mounted and now it's just a waiting game.

Fairfield House in Victoria has been a safe haven since the 80’s for those with HIV/AIDS. The staff and surroundings have given this facility a very special place in the hearts of Melbourne’s Gay community. When he discovered Fairfield was about to close, one brave patient decided to speak up.
