There’s a lot of argument about whether we can afford to cut carbon emissions, with coal companies especially warning the government about what it will mean for the economy and jobs. Ben McNeil is a climate scientist and an economist. In his book The Clean Industrial Revolution he argues that its not a matter of the climate versus the economy – he says the climate IS the economy, and if the coal industry is smart it will get with the program as soon as possible.
