The cashless welfare card will be put into vote through the Senate during the final week of Parliament and there has been constant debate whether or not the program is good or not. The card was first introduced in 2016 and came with the intent to reduce the cases of alcohol, drug, and gambling problems. However it also punishes those who are receiving income support from the government and putting them in one huge category. Now, the government wants to extend the trials and possible extend it to more communities.

Will the cashless welfare card be applicable for the whole of Australia?

Erielle Sudario has the story.
