Salam Pax is the pen-name of the Baghdad blogger – the young man who used his computer to tell the story of day to day life in a city under siege. He didn’t realise at the time just how many people around the world were reading what he wrote. Since the war he has been tracked down – his blogs have been collected in a book and this week he is the darling of the literary set as the guest of the Sydney Writers’ Festival. He remains surprisingly optimistic about Iraq’s future.
