A workshop was held in Brisbane on Tuesday to kick off the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Advocacy Program. What advocates say is missing from cancer care are black faces. Both in the medical arena and media representation. Over the past 12 months, Menzies School of Health Research have sought input from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to develop a program that will assist survivors and other key stakeholders with interests in cancer, to advocate to improve the cancer care needs of their communities.
