The debate over the abortion drug RU486 might be over with the passage of the bill throught he Senate this week but it doesn’t mean the argument stops there. Health Minister Tony Abbot is reported to preparing a cabinet submission on ways to lower the abortion rate with a 60 million dollar proposal for higher levels of councelling of pregnant women.He is joined in his concerns by a group called Australians Against RU486. Dr Cathy Lennon says RU486 is just the beginning and that drug companies are poised to flood the market with more than a hundred similar drugs.
