Moves to implement a new editorial policy across the board at the ABC have been described as a pre-emptive strike against budget cuts by the Federal Government. That’s according to commentators assessing the fallout from the move by ABC managing director Mark Scott to roll out the editorial policy that aims to bring more diversity of opinion and reduce allegations of bias at the national broadcaster. But while the bias yardstick is being applied to the ABC, the commercial sector remains untouched.
