Thailand Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej has been stood down by the country’s Constitutional Court, ostensibly for hosting a TV cooking show. The People’s Alliance for Democracy, consisting mainly of wealthy Thai’s, have been demonstrating for the last two weeks, demanding that Samak go, but he still retains the support of the country’s poor peasants. Catherine Zengerer spoke to The Wire’s correspondent in Bangkok, Jay Lamey, about Thailand’s out-of-favour celebrity chef.
