Australia’s largest terrorism raid was conducted today, involving over 800 police and resulting in 15 people being detained. Some media and officials have been quick to label the detainees as terrorists and criminals raising issues involving ‘presumptions of innocence’. The issue also sparked debate about whether current laws go too far and whether the government will use this as leverage to pass even stricter anti-terrorism laws.
