The NT government has today thrown its support behind the Federal Stronger Futures Bill which was introduced into Parliament this week. The Intervention Rollback group says it’s deeply disappointed in the Territory Government’s announcement.

The bill  will continue the NT intervention, in particular the controversial income management scheme, where parents have welfare benefits withdrawn if their children don’t go to school.A long list of community, Aboriginal and health  groups from around the country today spoke out against the continuation of  income management, saying it should be dropped in favour of a more cooperative approach.
