Ovarian Cancer Australia tells women that nobody knows your body like you do in a new awareness video released. Teal Ribbon Day reminds women that early detection is the key to effective treatment and survival of ovarian cancer, although there is not yet an early screening test and symptoms can be easily missed. Afternoon ‘teal’ events are being held around Australia to raise vital funds for further research.

If ovarian cancer is treated when it is still confined to the ovaries, 93% patients will be alive in five years. If the cancer has spread to surrounding tissue or organs in the pelvis, this drops to 39%, and if it has spread more distantly, just 30% survive.
