After two days of talks by two-hundred experts in Canberra, the Tax Forum seems to have ended not with a bang, but a whimper.

This week’s tax forum called two-hundred experts, economists, and politicians to Canberra for two days of talks about taxation policy. Independent MP and champion of the Tax Forum, Rob Oakeshott has called it a success, citing the increase in the low income tax threshold as a major step forward. But critics are divided over increasing the threshold as the best way to offer relief to low income earners.
