In 1824 war broke out between settlers and Aboriginals in Tasmania. The war raged for 8 bloody years and claimed the lives of 600 Aboriginals and more than 200 white settlers. It is a story that faded from hsitory for almost a century, and has now been retold ina new book The Black War: Fear Sex and Resistance in Tasmania.
