Taree Council takes down the Aboriginal flag

In the New South Wales coastal town of Taree, the council has caused an uproar by reversing their decision of three years, to fly the Aboriginal flag outside council chambers. It’s a decision that has sparked protests – and created concern within the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ecumenical Commission of the National Council of Churches. Executive Secretary Graham Mundine explained to Craig Egert why the decision worries him.
