Sydney Festival goes Home-grown in 2021
Almost no Australian industry was left untouched by financial damage of 2020. The arts sector however, affected in a particularly brutal manner.

This year, The Sydney Festival is seeking to reinvigorate a struggling Sydney art scene. With international talent grabs out of the line-up, this year’s theme, ‘Australian Made’ aims to seize the challenge by investing in Australian creatives.
Featuring 130 events over 3 weeks sprawling from Parramatta to Chippendale, the 2021 Sydney Festival is looking to inject $6 million into the Sydney arts industry. Despite reduced audience capacities and a mixture of in-person and online events, the 2021 Festival is aiming to show Sydney-siders their local artists are worth the investment.
