Suicide Prevention Australia calls to end alarming rates of suicide amongst men

Evidence shows that men account for approximately eighty percent of suicide deaths in Australia. And for minority groups, the problem is even worse. Indigenous suicide rates are now thought to be forty percent higher than those of the non-indigenous population. And same-sex attracted men are up to six times more likely to attempt suicide than the general population. Suicide Prevention Australia, a non-profit, non government organization is now calling for initiatives that encourage men to seek help.
