Tension is building as Sudan launches a stunning accusation toward Israel after a weapons factory in its capital city, Khartoum, was blown up. Israel remains silent amid the allegations but questions remain as to why it could attack the African country.

The Yarmouk munitions factory was bombed late at night, setting the building ablaze and killing two people. Sudan is a known route for weapons smuggling with many firearms potentially being directed to Islamist groups in Gaza. Israel’s ire may also centre upon the conflict between Sudan and South Sudan, with the newly independent nation an ally of the Jewish state.
