Shooting parties and hunting tours – the execution target our indigenous population. There are many brutal stories behind white settlement in the early eighteen hundreds. Their remains were taken as ghoulish trophies and shipped back to British museums. Earlier this year the Federal Government agreed to fund a British High Court battle between the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre and the British Natural History Museum, where some remains were kept. More good news this morning….. All legal proceedings have been dropped and all 17 sets of remains from Tasmania will finally be handed over and brought back this Monday.
