Stolen wages protests mark Labour Day in Queensland

Premier Anna Bligh led her first Labour Day march through Brisbane today. The theme of the march was “Your Rights at Work, Worth Joining For.” Premier Bligh championed the labour movement and the entitlements won such as the eight hour working day, holidays and sick leave. But in Townsville a group of people were marching to a much different tune. Stolen wages claimants marked Labour Day by protesting against the Bligh government’s final offer for reparation.
