On May Day we think of rights for workers all over the world, but what about the rights of Indigenous workers whose wages were lost, stolen and not accounted for by the Australian government? The effects of these lost wages are still being felt by Aboriginal families around Australia. In Queensland, ATSIC is calling on the State government to negotiate directly with Aboriginal communities and to follow the New South Wales lead by extending the offer of payment to families of deceased workers. Cinnamon Nippard spoke to ATSIC Commissioner for South East Queensland, Robbie Williams.
