There have been concerns raised that South Australia’s health resources will be stretched as a result of the federal government crackdown on child sex abuse in the Northern Territory. Brian Butler Chair of the National Stolen Generation’s Alliance says residents from Aboriginal communities bordering the NT will fear going to Alice Springs for treatment and instead travel to Adelaide. Mr Butler has met with staff at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital telling them to be prepared for an influx of patients from the Anangu Pitjantjatjari Yankunytjatjara lands.
