Stolen Generation – what’s after ‘sorry’

It’s more than two years since the Rudd Labor Government apologised to the Stolen Generations, and since the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission handed down it’s report into how reparation could be made to those affected by the actions of forced removal. But since then, only three states have created Tribunals and programs to assist the victims and their families – each of these have their own set of standards and rules. Last night in South Australia, the Greens party introduced a bill for that state to start it’s own Reparation Tribunal, and the Federal Greens are introducing a similar Bill in the hope of having a national set of standards and guidelines.
