The first Gay Pride march took place through the streets of Adelaide in 1973. They were conservative times and the shadow of the murder of a gay man on the banks of the river hung over the town. Margie Fisher from the group Pink Parents and Will Sargeant who carried the “I” in the first gay pride march 31 years ago talked about what it means to them to march.
