Drafting the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People has been a long drawn out process. In concluding our UN series today we look at one of the crucial reasons it has taken 11 years for a draft to be accepted. As the UN has 191 member States opposition is inevitable. But the resistance from some governments has been shameless and unfounded.
