States needed for School Chaplaincy Scheme

The government has been forced to negotiate with the states in order to pass it’s School Chaplaincy scheme. The high court ruled the scheme was invalid and now the Government has no choice but to fund it through the states. South Australia has been reluctant to accept the offer and South Australian education minister Jennifer Ranknine said she will only consider the proposal “if the Federal Government reinstates provision that allow for funding to also be used by schools to engage secular social workers”.
