Last week on our show we played some audio from a shocking new film that documents some of the worst violence of Sri Lanka’s civil war. This week, we hear from Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in Australia, Thisara Samarasinghe, who held a high ranking post in the country’s navy at this time. He denies that Sri Lanka’s military targeted civilians during the conflict.

The documentary is called No Fire Zone: Sri Lanka’s Killing fields, and its been screening in a few selected locations around Australia in the last couple of weeks. The documentary alleges that in the final days of the war, Sri Lanka’s military was involved in targeting civilians, amongst other atrocities and war crimes. However, the High Commissioner contends that the footage could be doctored, or, he says, it could show tamils bombing their own people.
