The existence of violent and criminal South Sudanese gangs in Melbourne has been an topic of much discussion for Australian federal ministers, politicians, and even the Prime Minister.

With the introduction of new legislation for juvenile offenders in Victoria, the government appears to be cracking down on the high rates of crime in the state, and indirectly targeting the South Sudanese community.
