Locked in the archives of South Australia is a document, the Letters Patent, signed by King William 4th of England, promising that the new colony would respect the rights of Aboriginal people to their land. A new national award winning exhibition in SA starts with that promise and then goes on to tell what life has really been like for the indigenous inhabitants since 1936. Tiati Wangkanthi Kumangka tells the untold history of the state and organisers hope that it will lead to understanding and even a treaty based on  the Letters Patent.
