While humans often return to the Earth after life, it could be the seeds that sprout from soil that provide sustainable options to dealing with food scarcity in both Australia and abroad.

But the seed pickers aren’t your conventional type, in fact they may be guided by a computer that looks to identify seeds resistant to frost, drought and other elements impacting on food security.

 

Myles Houlbrook-Walk spoke to Genetic Research scientist with International Centre For Agricultural Resarch, Ken Street.
