For the first time a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan has become the first camp to be powered by renewable energy.

More than 20,000 refugees have benefited from free and sustainable electricity. However, development experts question whether the program will last due to the philanthropic funding model and instead are calling for ongoing bilateral aid.
