NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell has decided to honor the 60 cent rebate on the Solar Bonus Scheme, as promised by the NSW Labor Government. O’Farrell had proposed to retrospectively adjust the rebate to only 40c per kilowatt-hour … but revised the decision today after pressure from Coalition back benchers, the Christian Democratic Party and the Fishers and Shooters party. The scheme affects 110,000 households who can get a government rebate for any excess power they send back into the grid. While it’s a positive development, the changes to government policy have depleted confidence in the fledgling solar power industry.
