Australian Council of Social Service welcomes RBA overhaul

The country’s peak social welfare body says the proposed overhaul of the Reserve Bank (RBA) underscores the notion that the board has long been out of touch with ordinary Australians.

The Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) said the changes are aimed at creating a Reserve Bank board that is more in touch with the social fabric of the country.

ACOSS CEO, Cassandra Goldie, said the RBA has been focused on the cash rate rather than people.

News Director for National Radio News, Frank Bonaccorso, spoke with Cassandra Goldie.
