As National Homeless Person’s week kicks off, the federal government’s commitment to the plight of homeless individuals and families is squarely in the spotlight. Right now there are upwards of 105 000 homeless in Australia, and while the government has pledged to halve that number by 2020, packed refuges nationwide are showing that there’s still a long way to go.
