World Suicide Prevention Day, held annually on September 10, aims to increase the public health significance of suicide and suicide attempts. Most recent data says that 2,535 suicides were reported in Australia; the highest annual number of suicide deaths over the past decade. Campaigners are stressing the importance of raising awareness and talking about this issue to help beat suicide stigmas and increase prevention. They believe one of the best ways to help is to get people talking.
