Signs promising solar energy rebate scheme will be reinstated, says expert

Leading representatives for the solar energy industry are currently lobbying parliamentarians to see the return of the recently dumped solar hot water rebate.

The $320 million bonus scheme gave $1000 to each Australian household to help see the switch from older electric hot water systems to those run by the sun. Today, the Chief Executive of the Australian Solar Energy Society, John Grimes said signs are promising that scheme will be reinstated.He revealed he will be meeting with the Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, Mark Dreyfus, this week to discuss the scheme.
