Eight months of life outside detention has apparently ended for five asylum seeker children. The Family Court released them into the community last August. Now the full bench of the High Court has ruled that the Family Court did not have the jurisdiction to do what they did. Dale West from Centacare and Acting headmaster of St Ignatius College, where the children are at school, Peter Coffey, say to remove the children from their new life would be a tragedy.
