Close to 100 eager young ladies donned their boots for an afternoon of footy at the Islamic College of Brisbane as part of the Shinpad and Hijabs program. The program is run by Football United an organisation that uses soccer to bring people together regardless of race, creed, colour or sporting ability. Islamic College student Tahira Hussain, an avid football player and watcher, was one of the first to sign up when she heard about the program.
