Camillo Meija is the first US soldier to publicly turn his back on the Iraq war. After months in hiding he’s given himself up to military authorities and is claiming to be a conscientious objector. His story appeared on the American 60 Minutes program last night nad has the nation divided over whether he is a hero or a traitor. His aunt Norma Castilo said his stand strengthens the growing movement against the continuing US presence in Iraq.
