Former Labour Senator and now Independent, Fatima Payman, has told the Community Radio sector that she feels sentiment is shifting in the Labor Party after the New South Wales conference carried a vote to recognise Palestine as a sovereign state.

The 29-year-old Senator for Western Australia recently quit the party in Canberra after she voted against party lines on the issue.

She’s currently touring Western Australia and Ngaarda Media’s Asad Khan, contacted her in Broome to find out her thoughts on the vote that came out of Sydney.
