Senate voting reform passed after marathon session

The make up of the senate could drastically change come next election as the government and greens finally passed their voting reform bill today. Now voters will be able to direct preferences above the line instead of just going through the laborious process of numbering every square on the bottom. But many minor parties complain the change all but locks them out of future contests.
