Senate report lifts silence on speech pathology policy

Most people take the ability to speak for granted, but for the one million Australians who have a speech condition, speaking and being understood by others can be a daily struggle. A new Senate report has finally confirmed what speech pathologists and patients have argued for years, that public funding for therapy is insufficient, access is limited and that government policy has failed to recognise the far reaching effects communications disorders can have on the lives of affected individuals.
