Self-imposed alcohol ban in Jigalong

The latest Indigenous community to face a total alcohol ban is the town of Jigalong in Western Australia. Terry Waldron, Minister for Gaming and Liquor, says he was approached by the community to enforce the ban. The Jigalong Community Council wasn’t available for comment, however chairman Melvin Farmer has been quoted in The Australian, supporting the alcohol ban.
