From Samoa to Indonesia… the disasters in the South Pacific and South-east Asia just seem to keep coming. After yesterday’s earthquake of 7.0 on the richter scale, Indonesia was hit by another quake – this time 6.8 on the scale and on land in Sumatra. Dr Sri Widiyantoro is Professor of Seismology at the Bandung Institute of Technology in Sumatra, Indonesia. He says while they couldn’t have predicted the second earthquake Sumatra is well overdue for an even more major earthquake.
